Rice krispies are a timeless treat. They’re crunchy and sweet and buttery and you basically can’t go wrong because they’re so dang easy to throw together. Follow the recipe below for a fool-proof, delicious snack!
Rice Krispie Treats:
- 6 cups rice krispie cereal
- 1 16 oz bag marshmallows
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
White Chocolate Coating:
- 2 bags Ghirardelli white melting wafers (or about 4 cups white chocolate chips)
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
Melt butter and vanilla on medium-low heat on stovetop in large pot. Once fully melted, add the bag of marshmallows. Stir marshmallows and butter together and allow to fully melt. You don’t need to stir it constantly but do keep an eye on it and stir it regularly so it doesn’t burn. Once the marshmallows are fully melted pour in the 6 cups of rice krispies and stir. Transfer into a 9×13 inch pan and allow to cool.
Once cooled cut into squares.
Get started on the white chocolate coating. In a double broiler over medium heat melt white chocolate and coconut oil. Dip each rice krispie square halfway and lay on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper to set. Sprinkle with valentine’s day sprinkles. Refrigerate to speed up setting process. Enjoy!
